You can connect to BKOOL using ANT+, Bluetooth, or both. To do so, you must ensure that the hardware you wish to connect emits one of these two technologies.
In order to ensure that everything works correctly, we recommend that you check that your Smart trainer/Bike is compatible and that your device meets the minimum requirements.
PC (BKOOL Cycling)
- Bluetooth Smart 4.0. Requires Windows 10 or later
- ANT+. Using the ANT+ antenna connected to the PC’s USB port.
Mac (BKOOL Cycling)
- Bluetooth Smart 4.0.
- ANT+. Using the ANT+ antenna. You will require a USB, USB-C cable.
IOS (iPad) (BKOOL Cycling and Spin Studio)*
- Bluetooth Smart 4.0.
*Only available for iPhone in BKOOL Spin Studio
Android (BKOOL Cycling and Spin Studio)
- Bluetooth Smart 4.0.
- ANT+.
There are some models of Android devices which have ANT+ integrated (review your devices’ technical specifications). If your device come with ANT+ integrated, you just have to install BKOOL and the following free services in the Google Play Store (which usually are already pre-installed):
There are devices which come with these services installed by default, but they are disabled. To check that they are activated, go to ‘App Information’.
If this is not the case, and your device does not have ANT+ integrated, you can connect the ANT+ USB antenna via an OTG cable.
NB: There have been some instances where Android 11 does not allow this technology to be used, in which case we recommend using Bluetooth.
